Sturgis is the name of the famous American motorbike rally championships. This competition is held every year in a place called Sturgis which lies in the south of Dakota. This Sturgis motorbike rally competition is mostly held in the first few days of the month of August every year. the people who are interested in these races bring their own bikes and enlist their names for the competition. these motorbike rally races started back in the 1940′s. the Jackpine Gypsies club used to make all the arrangements of this competition. the first ever race that took place in the hillclimb track was not able to attract a huge audience and only a few racers participated at that time. the creator of the Jackpine Gypsies bought a motor cycle franchise and started this Club after few days.
the goal of these races was to present the talents and skills of racers through their races and unique stunts. the event of the motor cycle rally had taken place every year with the exception in the World War 2. Currently the Sturgis 2010 has brought many new faces in the racing teams. Many new groups have aroused and many people have started taking interest in these races. Every year the number of fans has been increasing and now it is expected that the Sturgis 2010 will be bringing more than eight lac fans.
